The Fermanagh Unionist Women’s Association held their Annual Supper Dance in the Unionist Hall, Enniskillen on Friday 3rd October. The event was a phenomenal success, with the hall filled to capacity. Those who attended were treated to their supper followed by music from the popular country singer, Curtis Magee.

Speaking after the event, local Unionist Party MLA Tom Elliott said: “The annual supper dance is something I look forward to every year. It’s a night when families can come out together for what is primarily a social occasion. This year’s crowd is up on previous years and the ladies’ did extremely well to meet with the increased demand and assure that the night passed off with the same quality as has become their trademark. They deserve so much praise for the hard work they put in, not only for tonight but throughout the year in terms of promoting Ulster Unionism locally.”

Ulster Unionist MEP Jim Nicholson also attended the Supper dance and clearly enjoyed his time with the Fermanagh folk. He said: “I can honestly say that I had a truly enjoyably time meeting and talking with the Fermanagh Unionists. It was fantastic to see such a large crowd filling the Unionist Hall and the ladies did a wonderful job organising such a terrific event.

“I have always had a lot of time for the people in the West, and I was delighted to attend the dance and provide people with an opportunity to ask me about Brussels and my work at a European level.”

Tom Elliott said that it was a pleasure to have Jim Nicholson down for the night, adding: “All in all, it was simply wonderful to see so many people willing to come out and support the Ulster Unionist cause. The backing and encouragement that the Fermanagh Unionist Women and their supporters offer to myself and our local councillors is first class and it helps us remain energised to fight for the Union that we all hold dear and want to protect and promote. I simply can’t put into words how valuable the support of local people is as we continue to fight for Unionism in this part of the world.”
