Ulster Unionist MLA Tom Elliott, welcomed members of Fermanagh support groups Breast Strokes and Cancer United to Stormont on Tuesday.
Elliott welcomes cancer support groups to Stormont
Ulster Unionist MLA Tom Elliott, welcomed members of Fermanagh support groups Breast Strokes and Cancer United to Stormont on Tuesday.
“Both these groups provide invaluable support to their members. Having fallen victim to cancer in some way, each and every one of those who visited has endured a very personal battle.
“It was a pleasure to facilitate a visit by members of Enniskillen’s Breast Strokes and Irvinestown’s Cancer United at Parliament Buildings, particularly on such a beautiful day.”
Members were given a private tour of Stormont and enjoyed the opportunity to witness the Northern Ireland Assembly in action.
Trip organizer Sandra Trimble said: “Having been brought together in a common cause – that of fighting cancer - members of both Breast Strokes and Cancer United have provided wonderful support for each other over the years.
“It was a great privilege to visit Stormont and we would like to thank Tom Elliott for his kindness in extending the invitation.”
