Ulster Unionist MLA Tom Elliott has called on people to report anything suspicious in their area following a burglary in Irvinestown, Co Fermanagh.
Mr Elliott said: "It is sad that we have people in our society who prey on the elderly and vulnerable.
"I understand that an elderly lady was burgled in her home in Irvinestown last night. The people that carry out such acts are a scourge on our society.
"It is important that anyone with information about the incident should give it to the police. It is also vital that people look out for their neighbours and report anything suspicious in their area."
