Ulster Unionist MLA Tom Elliott has welcomed the announcement that Forest Service headquarters will re-locate to Fermanagh.
Mr Elliott said: “I have lobbied DARD for the past five years on this matter and said that the re-location of Forest Service to the west would be a very practical and positive move.
“It is practical in the sense that there is approx 100 staff at Forest Service and this is a reasonable number of public sector jobs to be based in Fermanagh without any huge distortion to DARD headquarters.
“It is a positive move in that it should be possible to move this agency without a massive cost to the public. We don’t want exorbitant costs levied against the Department or Executive in these times of financial constraints.
“I look forward to this move being expedited within a very short timescale, which would confirm that DARD is serious about such a move of a public agency to the west of
