Ulster Unionist MLA Tom Elliott has described his “delight” at the news that The Queen will visit Enniskillen during a two day visit to Northern Ireland at the end of June as part of her Diamond Jubilee tour.
Mr Elliott said: “It is absolutely fantastic news that Her Majesty The Queen is to visit Enniskillen as part of her two day tour to Northern Ireland. Many of us are already preparing to join in with the National Diamond Jubilee celebrations this weekend, but to know that just weeks from now we will have The Queen here in County Fermanagh is special indeed.”
“I remember her visit to Ballinamallard in 2002 as part of her Golden Jubilee tour, when large, passionate crowds came out to greet and cheer her. It was a terrific occasion, and no doubt it will be just as terrific this time when she is made to feel very welcome in Enniskillen.”
“I am also pleased that the Northern Ireland Executive will present The Queen with a piece of Belleek pottery, another great positive for Fermanagh.”
